A real trip. A fantasy of bright, cool colors explodes on this exciting red wine glass. Signed by artisan. The idea for the artisan's sculpted glasses was inspired by a unique wine glass given to her as a gift. It had a colorful ceramic stem and was a refreshing departure from the average glass. Artisan began experimenting with sculpting polymer clay around the base and stem of glasses. Two years of trial and error finally produced a product which satisfied her. After manipulating the clay into various patterns, the artisan carefully sculpts her design idea onto the glass. In some cases, paint is added for details. The glass is then heated until the clay is hardened and the design permanent. A protective sealant is applied which adds a sheen and enhances the colors. It is a meticulous, labor-intensive and time-consuming process but one that produces a very original piece for yourself or someone special.
